Privacy Policy
Handling money means handling personal data, and financial regulation requires us to collect more of it than most services. This explains what we hold, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
Who you are: your name, date of birth, phone number, email, address and government ID, plus a selfie used to confirm the ID belongs to you.
What you do: the payments you make and receive, the balances you hold, and the devices and locations you use to reach your account.
How you contact us: messages to support, and notes from calls.
Why we collect it
To run your account and move your money. To confirm you are who you say you are, which the law requires before you can send. To detect fraud and financial crime. To answer you when you contact us. To meet our reporting obligations to regulators.
We collect what regulation requires and what the product needs. Nothing else.
Our lawful basis
We process most of your data because we need it to provide the service you asked for, or because the law requires us to. Where neither applies — marketing, for example — we ask for your consent, and you can take it back at any time.
Who we share it with
Identity verification providers, who check your ID. Payout partners, banks and mobile money networks, who deliver your money. Screening providers, who check names against sanctions lists. Our regulators and law enforcement, where we are legally obliged.
We do not sell your data. There is no exception to that buried further down this page.
Sending data outside Ghana
Some of our providers operate outside Ghana. Where your data moves across a border we make sure it is protected to the standard Ghanaian law requires, through the contracts we hold with those providers.
How long we keep it
Financial regulation requires us to keep transaction records and identity evidence for a set period after your account closes. We keep it for that period and no longer, then delete it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Some of these have limits — we cannot delete records the law requires us to keep.
Write to our Data Protection Officer and we will respond within the period set by Ghana's Data Protection Act.
