How it works

Ninety seconds, and where they go.

Most transfer companies won't tell you this part. We will, because once you understand it our prices make sense.

Why a bank transfer takes days

Send money to Ghana through a bank and your money doesn't actually travel. A chain of banks each pass a message along and adjust their own records — your bank, a correspondent bank, maybe a second one, then the receiving bank. Each takes a cut and a working day. None of them work weekends.

That is why a diaspora sender typically pays 8% or more and waits one to three days.

What we do instead

1

Your money becomes a digital dollar

When you add money we convert it into a digital dollar — a token backed one for one by real dollars held in reserve by its issuer. One token, one dollar.

We use established ones: USDC, USDT and cUSD.
2

It moves on an open network

That token travels over a public settlement network built for exactly this — moving value between countries in seconds, for a cost measured in fractions of a cent.

There is no correspondent bank in the middle to add a day and a fee.
3

It becomes local money again

Our partner in the receiving country converts it and pushes the cash into your recipient's mobile money wallet or bank account.

You send pounds. They receive cedis. Neither of you touches step two.
Where the time goes

Two of the ninety seconds are ours.

Quoting, screening, ledger and orchestration take about two seconds. The rest is your bank, the network and the payout partner. So we spend our engineering on failing over fast, not on shaving our own latency.

What could go wrong, and what we do about it

Rates move

We show you the rate before you confirm and hold it for fifteen minutes. If it moves after that we ask you again, rather than sending at a rate you didn't agree to.

A network goes down

Mobile money networks have outages. When that happens your transfer waits in our system, we tell you, and it completes when the network is back. Your money is never lost in the gap.

A payment gets flagged

We're required to check payments against sanctions and fraud rules. Occasionally that means a delay while we ask you a question. We would rather ask.

Where your money sits when you're not using it

As digital dollars, backed one for one by real dollars held in reserve by the token issuer.

Customer funds are kept separate from company money, so they are not ours to lend, invest or spend. You can withdraw at any time. If MoniMoove stopped trading, the reserve backing your balance would remain yours to claim.

Dollar savings work differently — money you move into savings is put to work through audited treasury protocols and can earn a return. Returns are variable and not guaranteed.

See it for yourself.
